Who can access this service?
We work with individuals, families and community groups affected by or at risk of HIV, Hepatitis B and/or C, or by sexually transmissible infections (STIs).
This can include migrants, refugees, sex workers and international students of all ages and genders.
What support is available?
We provide free support services, counselling, information sessions, and resources to:
- help people understand the infection and what it does to the body.
- increase understanding about how to know if they have the virus/disease, and what treatments are available.
- assist people to do the appropriate testing/check-up, maintain follow up and get appropriate treatment.
- teach people how to reduce the risk of contracting the infection, and learn how to prevent transmission of those infections.
- assist people to respond to unfair treatment or discrimination because of their situation.
- help build personal confidence and not let shame factors affect their life.
- help people live healthy lives.
- provide support services people may need.
- build social connections and peer support.
Social connections for LGBTIQA+ individuals
- Unidos – an online group that offers peer support to LGBTIQA+ individuals through events, activities and community education with a focus on people from a multicultural background based in Adelaide, South Australia.
- Boyz – a multicultural-oriented social group for gay and bisexual men who are currently living in, or moving to, Adelaide.
