Connect with Other People Living with HIV

Relationships Australia SA: Women’s Lounge

The Women’s Lounge is a monthly gathering for women from different cultural backgrounds who are living with HIV. Each month, women come together to connect, socialise and share ideas and experiences as well as to learn new things that help them deal with the challenges of life.

At the Women’s Lounge women learn how to respond to the stigma associated with their HIV status, create a network of friends who share similar situations and enjoy a space that is safe and private. Only women that are known to the facilitator can attend. The Women’s Lounge also provides a space to discuss issues in the community and contribute to policies and services that would better meet the needs of women living with HIV.

To register your interest or for further information please call (08) 8245 8100 and ask to speak with the Program Coordinator.

SAMESH offers peer support for people living with HIV and peer led workshops for recent diagnosed men and women. The group provides opportunities for all people living with HIV (PLHIV) to connect, through drop-in events and initiatives, such as cooking classes, that help to empower people to live well with HIV.

SAMESH also offers financial support for community members wishing to be leaders within their community to attend the national Positive Leadership Development Institute workshops.

PLHIV are encouraged to connect and network with one another; this can be done online through The Institute of Many (TIM). SAMESH team members also host regular TIM social events for men and women living with HIV.
